As the Arafat Turns

I must say that I am rather enjoying the spectacle surrounding the dead, no almost dead, soon-to be-dead, should be dead Yasser Arafat. It rather reminds me of the scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail in which the corpse collector (I don’t know his name) calls out “Bring out your dead, bring out your dead.”

As you may recall one of the characters tries to have an older man placed on the cart who says “But I am not dead yet” aw bollocks, if you have seen the movie you know that it is much funnier to watch then I make it sound and if you haven’t seen it, go watch it.

Anyway as this all applies to the former strongman/terrorist/nut job leader I have great appreciation for what a mess it has been. More to the point I think that it is really interesting to see that it really does appear that Arafat’s wife has been cheating with a man that successfully sued Arafat and almost brought down the PA.

For more details go see Allison and Miriam’s accounting of all this nonsense.

It may be narishkeit, but it sure is fun.

Well, it’s “official.” Arafat is dead (or so they are finally admitting).
