Lithuania Unearths Liquor Pipeline from Belarus

“VILNIUS (Reuters) – Lithuanian border guards have unearthed a three-kilometer (2-mile) pipeline for smuggling in moonshine liquor from neighboring Belarus, the guards said on Friday.

The thin plastic pipeline, buried a few centimeters underground, ran under several roads, along a riverbed and ended next to the home of a Lithuanian citizen.”

My family is from Vilna, I wonder if the pipeline goes by the old homstead and if so, how can I get a piece of action. Someone, somewhere acquired my family’s land during the war. It would be fitting that we receive compensation of some sort. Why not some Vodka. 😉

    Trepp,

Sounds like some of the alcohol from my college days. 😉

This stuff is likely somewhere between brake fluid and paint thinner! Add to that that I’m sure they didn’t fuss too much over the sterility of the pipe… I’d say it was more of a health issue (rather than a taxation issue) that moved the officials to shut down the hoochflow. 🙂
