Ego Stroking

It is a part of blogging. Some of us engage in it more frequently than others. It is called ego stroking and in short it is what happens when you spend time checking your stat counter, your position in the Truth Laid Bear Ecosystem or position on Technorati.

If you spend any time reading my blog you know that after 3,298 posts I don’t just do this for myself. It is the primary reason. If no one paid any attention to me I’d still blog. If there weren’t any comments on any of my posts, I would still blog. If you want to know more about why I do it you can go here.

But I would be dishonest if I didn’t say that I enjoy the feedback. I enjoy the attention and I appreciate seeing that people appreciate what I do. Some people might find that to be contradictory,or maybe not. If you ask many of my friends they’ll tell you that I am a contradiction, or maybe they won’t say anything because you are all just part of a dream I am having and when I wake up you and the blogosphere will disappear. Just as long as I don’t wake up as Gregor Samsa.

Anyhoo, I just checked my position in the old Jewish blog category on Technorati and found that I am way down the list of Jewish blogs, not even close to the top ten. So to rectify that I am going to include more Jewish terms: Bar Mitzvah, Yom Kippur, Torah, Purim, Shmata, Yiddish and Moishe Pippick.

This ends this post.

    What is Yom Kippur?

I don’t doubt that ego stroking is a part of blogging… or at least for the most peoples…
