This will be a sticky post for a few days or until I grow tired of staring at it and move it.

Folks, I have a couple of questions for you.

1) Do you have a favorite post? It can be anything that I have written from way back in the blogs Jurassic period all the way to the current time.

2) What is your favorite thing about this blog?

3) What kind of posts do you like best?

I ask out of my own curiosity. I am a curious fellow. I wonder about many things and this is one of them.

So have it, give me your thoughts or I’ll send Shola to your house to have a conversation with you. 😉

    Hi Chosha and Sweettooth,

I appreciate the feedback and the time you spend here. Thank you.

  2. chosha March 18, 2006 at 4:16 pm

I don’t have a favourite post. I like this blog because (sorry if it seems too obvious because of the title) it’s so random. It’s a good mix – funny, serious, indignant, introspective. The Jewish content is interesting to me as I’m non-Jewish, but I get a little bogged down in the Israel-related posts. I like that you are into your religion, but that it doesn’t define your blog.

My favorite posts are the Long and Winding Road series and your fictional story of Ann and Daniel.

I also like your wkly roundup.

    you are cool

    DM,

When the head attention whore tells you that you are fishing for compliments I suppose tha you should listen. 😉

    PT,

I’ll see what I can do.

come over and vote: should I post photos of my wifes beautiful huge frum breasts?

  6. PsychoToddler March 16, 2006 at 5:37 pm

I like the Shola Rodes stuff. I think you should organize it a little better for those of us who missed it the first time around and want to follow it in order.

Then I’ll nominate it for best series in next years JIBs (if I remember, which I won’t).

Other than that, your conversations with your coworkers are always good for a laugh or coffee through the nose.

    LOL!

Question: how come dating mistress ddint come over her? Hey are you seeing my wife?

I like your bright chirpy attitude and the fact you are intelligent and a wordsmith. I guess in real life you would be a good guest-speaker for an Oneg Shabat.
    Do you do MCing sometime?

I love your posts about blogging and bloggers, the way you creep into our subconscious

Apparently the subconscious call for sending money isn’t working. Rats.

    You are real.
I have been called much worse than that. 😉

    It’s always different.

Adult ADD will do that to you, or rather to me.

  13. Richmond March 16, 2006 at 11:24 am

I like the variety of items you post about. Like I (have) said over at my place, I never know what I am going to get…. Politics, humor, kid stories, faith based issues, audio…. It’s always different. And I like that about you.

  14. westbankmama March 16, 2006 at 10:55 am

Jack, I enjoy reading you because you are unself-conscious. You write about what you want to write about, without worrying about whether people will like it. You are real.

  15. Pragmatician March 16, 2006 at 9:31 am

I’ll combine question 1 and two: I love your posts about blogging and bloggers, the way you creep into our subconscious and describe the various types there are and expectations we have.

  16. Jack's Shack March 16, 2006 at 7:33 am

I also like your sensitive self…when you talk about your grandparents, you friends, your children (never the wife!).

Somethings are best kept a secret.

    Houston,

    Thanks.

  17. Houston March 16, 2006 at 6:13 am

I’ve only been reading your blog for a month or so now, so my selection for your “best” is limited. I first noticed how personal you were willing to be when you wrote about your inability to cry. You achieved that same level of vulnerability in writing about your grandfather earlier this week. You seem to have grown up into a very gentle man. I like that in straight men.

Those two posts stand out, but you’re all over the map when it comes to blogging. Me too. That’s the best part of being your own editor: you really can write about anything or nothing if that’s what you want to write about.

Good writing, too. Good luck with it.

  18. torontopearl March 16, 2006 at 3:04 am

I like your multifaceted self. Sometimes I think “What a smarmy ass he is!” but then I grin throughout reading some of your posts. I also like your sensitive self…when you talk about your grandparents, you friends, your children (never the wife!).
I prefer when you write original posts rather than pick a news item and comment on it.
Okay, that’s it…but you did ask, you know.

  19. Jack's Shack March 16, 2006 at 2:56 am

    Hi guys,

Thank you for your feedback. I plan on getting back to my stories, but I haven’t had the chance to really dig into them yet.

  20. boneman March 16, 2006 at 12:03 am

OK, if I have to come up with a “favorite” post, this is going to be terribly eaasy…
    This one.
Because, of course, it’s the first time I’ve showed up at your posts.

Someone called me you (no, not a cat sound) and I was curious why they would suggest that at all.
    I dunno.
    Maybe….

    Hi! How are you?
Gee, since ya asked, last night I dreamed I was a car muffler. Not so bad, but, this morning I woke up exhausted….

  21. Miss Nibbles March 15, 2006 at 7:55 pm

I liked the shopping post… though the audio blogs make me laugh.

Umm, yes but whatever you write is entertaining.

  22. cruisin-mom March 15, 2006 at 5:13 pm

I have to agree with everyone else…I like the “eclectic-ness” of your blog, Jack.
    That’s what brings me back.

  23. MUST Gum Addict March 15, 2006 at 4:36 pm

Irina does make a good point, that pretty much states the same thing that I might say. I don’t have a favorite post or even a good reason of why I read the blog at all for that matter.

I guess the real reason is that I come here is because you never know what you’re gonna get (yes, your blog is like a box of chocolates). You’re like the ultimate shuffle button on my iPod.

  24. Lew March 15, 2006 at 4:33 pm

I don’t have favorite either, but I did especially enjoy your works of fiction. When can I expect some more? 🙂

I enjoy your blog because your posts are so eclectic. You write about Jewish issues, items in the news, music, your family, and more, all with equal ease and skill.

By the way, sorry about addressing you as G the other day. It was supposed to be J, but my typing dyslexia struck again.

  25. Irina Tsukerman March 15, 2006 at 4:12 pm

I can’t think of a single favorite post, but I love the sarcastic exchanges with your e-mail “pals” as well as the very personal posts that you have. And my favorite part of the blog is its miscellany. I like thinking aboud different things. I *really* have been looking forward to the continuation of the two stories you’ve been writing.
