Better Change The Toothbrush

I recently woke up and discovered that my daughter has morphed from a baby to a 2.5 year-old overnight. Ok, I am exaggerating but it is my blog and I can do what I want with it. 😉

There are a host of nice things that come with a 2.5 year-old as well as a few things that are not so nice, but we won’t focus on those right now. One of the nicer things is that for the most part she is potty trained now.

This particular story takes place here at the Shack. Outside the blue skies beckoned so I told my daughter that if she wanted I would take her to the park to play. She smiled and said yes. So I said that before we went it would be a good idea to try going to the bathroom. She said “ok da-da” and headed over to take care of her business.

I didn’t think too much of it. The bathroom is set up for her and I was standing just outside it. I watched as she climbed up on the toilet and once I saw that she was set I walked into the room next door to get my shoes. A moment later I heard the toilet flush followed by the sounds of running water in the sink.

Did I mention that during this whole process she serenaded me with a number of different songs including Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Open Shut Them? I love listening to her sing. She just sounds so happy and it is just so cute.

Anyway, they say that music tames the savage beast and it certainly was true for me because I suddenly realized that the water had been running for a long time. So I walked over to the bathroom to check on her and this is what I found.

  • One half naked 2.5 year-old girl
  • Running water.
  • A bottle of hand soap.
  • A toothbrush

I asked my daughter what had happened and she offered me the following explanation.

“Da-da, I accidentally peed on the floor so I am cleaning up my mess.”

How could I be upset with her. She knew that she had made a mess so she was splashing water on the floor, adding soap from the hand soap dispenser and then scrubbing it all with a toothbrush.

I thanked her for her work and helped get her and the floor cleaned up. Needless to say I made sure that the toothbrush she had been using was thrown away.

Doesn’t it make you wonder if she ever used it for the ame purpose before? Heh heh.

I have been through worse. Maybe I’ll blog about that. 😉 Chag sameach.

    Z,

It actually was an old toothbrush that is used for cleaning, but you never know if that is the only one to be graced by her presence.

    Raggedy,

Thanks. Chag sameach to you too.
