How To Write A Blog Post Only Smart and Sexy People Will Read

LoVE Dot. Dot .dot .

Someone asked me how to write a post in five minutes but I was feeling a bit saucy so I used a headline that some might call linkbait. On the other hand every good headline should have an element of linkbait in it.

Or maybe what we are really saying is linkbait is a pejorative term when the post it directs you to has no redeeming value for the reader. I don’t have time to mull that over with you now.

So instead let’s talk about you can write a post in five minutes. Maybe you provide Twenty-Five Links That Will Make You A Better Writer/Blogger and include links to older posts that newer readers might have missed like:

Between those posts you might help people recognize that you are someone who covers multiple topics because writing should be fun and Blogging Doesn’t Have To Have A Point.

Maybe you should keep sharing links to help breathe life into some older posts:

Or maybe you should wait until you have more than five minutes to blog.

What do you think?

Wow, scrolling thru and man, your titles just kill me! I click and read so many, can’t possibly comment on them all. (Money? Don’t get me started. One day? Depends on the day.) You’re good about sharing posts people may have missed.

“Maybe you should wait until you have more than five minutes to blog.”
WORD. Love it. Don’t know how people do it, write so much so quickly though I’ll say I’ve read more than a few posts and plenty of ‘news’ stories that didn’t take that long; all for the love of linkbait and newsjacking. Ahem.

Sometimes I do easily just crank out a post, at least the meat and bones part. But by the time I start linking, finding the perfect silly picture… it takes a lot longer. Then there are drafts that are more than a year old, I try to get them updated. Sigh.. always something. FWIW.

      Hi Davina,

You can comment on as many or as few posts as you’d like. Sometimes writing wacky titles is more fun than writing the actual post.

Some people can write a coherent post in five minutes but many just can’t do it. I suppose I am hypocritical in this regard because I am guilty of writing posts in relatively short time, but in my defense I’ll say I try not to cover anything “important” when I do that.

Sometimes you have to just write and let go.

They could copy and paste your links and BAM! Three minutes or less…

I like “Wait until you have more than five minutes to blog.” But it’s all good!

Sometimes the best we can do is make time, of course there are different meanings to that so I should probably stop while I am ahead. 😉

I captured 10 of my spam comments and turned it into a post; 5 minutes tops…:). So yes, it can be done.
