Kind of ashamed to admit that the only two I know are “Helter Skelter” and “In the Ghetto.” Both of which I came to know through cover versions/adaptations: Siouxsie & The Banshees recorded “Helter Skelter,” while Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds included a cover of “In the Ghetto” on their covers-only album, “Kicking Against the Pricks.” Which, incidentally, I ought to play right now for old times’ sake.

I’m going to give the Ray Charles numbers a listen.

Haven’t listened to Nick Cave in a while. I’ll have to check out that cover. I have a bunch of Siouxsie floating around. I like their version of Dear Prudence.
