The Return to Work

I managed to squeeze in a short vacation last week. It wasn’t much, but I found time to take three days off from work. Three days plus the weekend. that is a total of five days, or 120 hours. Or even better, it is 7,200 minutes of vacation.

Of course that doesn’t include the time sleeping, working on projects around the house, driving from place A to B and assorted other time suckers. Based upon my calculations those tasks took a total of 6,896 minutes, leaving me with just 304 minutes of actual vacation time. Or in the common parlance I got about five hours of vacation time, none of which was consecutive.

And now I feel a desperate need to run away screaming into the hills. That maniacal laughter you hear is me.
