Friends, Romans and Countrymen, lend me your ears. I come hear looking for your comments, advice and suggestions for whether I should change from the Native WordPress Commenting system to some other platform. Options include DISQUS, LiveFyre and Intense Debate.

The floor is open. What do you think?

I tried Discus but couldn’t make it work. I like the idea of people being able to get replies to their own comments. I believe Intense Debate allows that–it’s on my list to try. Ron uses it. Do you know what he thinks?

My Blogger blog uses Intense Debate. Once upon a time it used Haloscan and DISQUS. I like Intense Debate and I think that Ron does too. I am just trying to sort out what sort of tools I can use to further enhance discussion here. We’ll see how it goes I guess.

WordPress works for me, but multiple ID logins where you can use either a Google, Facebook, etc. login. This ensures I don’t have to remember an additional login and passowrd just to comment on a favourite blog.

Footnote: in Canada “Favourite” has a ‘u’ in it.”

I like the multiple ID logins too and want to make this easy. I don’t think that people stick around on blogs where they have to jump through hoops to comment. And since I can’t figure out what is pushing the box down on IE this might be a potential solution.

P.S. In Canada you use Monopoly money to pay for things and you have funny spelling for words. 😉

At least our Monopoly money is worth more currently than a certain “Green Back”. 🙂

That is true- but only until we take out the Polar Bear Mafia and then things will take a turn for the better.

I’m looking at DISQUS for my new blogs. As a commenter, I have issues with LiveFyre and ID log in. Or, rather, they seem to have issues with me for login.

I’m also curious about other’s experiences with comment platforms.

When I was on Blogger I used DISQUS for a while but it cause serious issues with my page. I have also heard mixed reviews about its influence upon SEO. But I figured that I would throw it out there to see what people had to say.
