Jews for Judaism

This is an organization I support wholeheartedly. There is an insidious campaign of duplicity and deception being waged against Jews around the world. It is being conducted by missionaries who are under the misguided impression that by trying to convert Jews they are acting in some kind of “holy” manner.

Sadly this is often sanctioned by ignorant and misguided evangelical groups as being necessary. I have had them tell me that they are doing this for my own good, as if I am a child who does not know enough to make my own decisions.

I do not bow down to religious terror and nor should anyone else. One of the ways to combat this plague is to make sure that you are educated about your faith and heritage so that the wool cannot be pulled over your eyes.

I hope and pray that these poor souls will come to understand that even things done with good intentions can be evil and I find this type of behavior to be right on that line. You can believe what you want, but there is no need to try and ram it down someone else’s throat.

Life at the beach is nice. I grew up in the Valley. Used to get out to WLV and T.O. It is a nice area, we have played around with moving out that way.

Although right now the market is so inflated I don’t think that there are any houses that I can afford, at least none that are liveable.

Westlake Village (high school), West Hollywood (most recently). I’ve also lived in Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey, Manhattan Beach (post-college).

If you don’t mind posting it, where in LA are you from?

I’m originally from Los Angeles… and I don’t remember as many conservative, Pro Life protesters there as there are in the Midwest. It’s been 9 years since I’ve moved to Chicago and I guess things have changed there. It sickens me, especially those who drag their innocent children along with them to these rallys!

We have had more than our share out here in Los Angeles. It makes me so angry, especially the way that some of them target children.

I once had one ask me to consider what jesus would do. At which point I explained to him that he would have recommended smiting the offender.

Truthfully I wish that I could say that I smote him, but he did the wise thing and left my presence.

You don’t *even* want to get me started on this topic… my mother’s Born Again. In addition, we in Chicago have recently been visually assaulted by the Face the Truth people (in “His Name”). Read my July 9th post:

(They also visited us during the morning pedestrian rush hour yesterday, too.) Why can’t an individual’s religious beliefs be respected? When was the last time you saw a rabbi evangelicising on a soapbox?
