“JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israel threatened Syria on Wednesday after Palestinian suicide bombers killed 16 people in the first such attacks in the Jewish state in nearly six months.

“Whoever is responsible for using terror against us won’t sleep quietly,” Israeli army chief Moshe Yaalon told a parliamentary committee.

The militant group Hamas, which is sworn to Israel’s destruction, claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s twin bombings on two buses in the southern city of Beersheba.

Israeli officials said Syria bore some of the blame for allowing Hamas’s leadership to operate from Damascus.

They also suggested Israel could resume its campaign to assassinate Hamas chiefs, both in the Palestinian territories and abroad.”

Bashar Assad is in some respects more dangerous than his father. He is still looking for a way to prove himself and this ego trip could lead to very bad things.
