Forces Find ‘Slaughterhouses’ in Fallujah

“FALLUJAH, Iraq – U.S. troops, on the verge of gaining control of the city, fought pockets of resistance in this former militant stronghold Wednesday and uncovered what the Iraqi commander said were “hostage slaughterhouses” in which foreign captives had been killed.”

Want to bet that many people knew what was going on inside these homes. There is a lot of work to be done to gain the trust of the Iraqi citizens. Without their help we are in big trouble.

very frightening. Looks like since the leaders escaped, they will probably be able to set up shop in some other city and we might have to do this whole thing again at least once or twice more. But I think the way we are going about it – house-to-house, letting the Iraqis secure the religious sites, etc. is respectful and will hopefully allow us to earn that trust making it easier during the subsequent skirmishes.

and besides, Arafat is still dead. Hope you are feeling better.
