Paris is Still Burning

Adloyada has a nice post about the current situation in France including a page of links to pictures of the activities there. Look at the photos and ask yourself why we are not seeing more of these in the MSM and why Chirac and company are fiddling while France burns.

This is not some normal uprising.

I am not saying that this is strictly a Muslim thing, but that is a big component of this.

This is from Albabwa, linked above:

Muslim youths set on fire some 900 vehicles, stoned paramedics and burned a nursery school in a ninth night of protests that spread from Paris suburbs to towns all across France, reports have indicated. France riotsPolice arrested more than 250 people overnight.

    Look at this too:

The fact that muslims are involved does not automatically mean that it is a “muslim thing.” To conclude that is to be simplistic. There are a lot of undercurrents at work. It may be true that there are extremists who are taking advantage of the situation, but there is a very complex situation going on and simplistic conclusions are just that.

I haven’t ready too much about this. But, I think a conclusion that it’s just a muslim thing oversimplifies things. There seems to be some dynamics in French society, involving poverty and lack of opportunity, that have been building for decades.
