    Mirty,

I like that AROOGAH so much because it reminds of the horn on classic cars.

    Gail,

I like your favorite memory. I must have made it recently after I finished paying my bills. 😉

    Richmond,

If I were stranded on a desert island I most definitely would build a still. With it I would create the most amazing alcoholic drink you can imagine.

Eventually I would be rescued and the drinks would make me rich, until I ran out of those incredible island fruits I used. And then my fame and fortune would end.

    JG,

Favorite teams: The Lakers, Dodgers and Raiders.

    Shifra,

That cheerleader became my wife. Sorry. 😉

    Elster,

The best part of these things is making up stories that you hope the other commenters will believe.

    Sweettooth,

The sad part is that summer at ’85 is so long ago.

    Ezzie,

    Those joyful Cleveland winters. 🙂

I have a confession to make. Your brother and I told you that the reason that there wasn’t any snow was because it was a special cleveland summer.

But the real reason we remember them is because you were having the time of your life in LA.

  6. Ezzie February 12, 2006 at 9:38 am

Are they truly representative of all Muslims or is there a different voice that we are not hearing.”

Will you repost this so I can do it for you?
    I’ll think about it.

Jack, here it is, my first impression of you —

I was in yoga class, and we kept hearing some guy going “AROOGAH!” from the weight room. It was disturbing our deep sense of calm.

I stepped to the door and peered into the dank, dark depths of the free weights room. There you were, Jack, lifting an absurd stack of iron donuts and grunting “AROOGAH!”

You looked like a bull — red-faced, broad-shouldered, strong. Behind me, the yoga students were in Pigeon Pose, as dove-like as could be.

“Sir,” I called out, softly. “Would you mind keeping it down? We have a class going on in here.”

You lifted your head and gave me the once over. You walked over and peered in at the dimly-lit yoga room.

Expressions played on your face. Oh, what fun you could have with this situation! To be the bull in a china shop, wildly flinging testosterone among the jasmine-scented devotees. But then you recognized your wife’s best friend on an orange mat in the middle row. Uh oh.

“OK,” you said gruffly. You stalked back to the weights and began to lift.

Huff! Huff! Huff! and then, quietly, softly: “aroogah!”
