I received an email from a reader. It says:

Dear Jack,

I have been an avid reader of your blog for more than a year now. In all of this time I have never emailed you or left any comments because I didn’t have anything to say. I really am more of a stay behind the scenes kind of person.

I wanted to let you know that because I like your blog I have tried not to stop reading it. It hasn’t been an easy thing becuase I think that it has jumped the shark. There are only so many long, wordy posts that I can read and they just aren’t funny any more. Id like it better if you could be funny again. Take more time to write and think about what you are doing or if you cannot do that just give up. the blog is a sad character now.

Happy new year,

James

Hi James,

Thank you for the feedback. I have a few ideas on some funny things I could do. Perhaps you’d like to star in a YouTube video. We could remake some of Jackass stunts, starring you. That might be funny.

Or maybe you could submit your own material because you probably are a funny guy. I have to go now. This bitter old blogger needs a good cry.

-Jack

You haven’t Jumped the Shark until you’ve had a Psychotoddler crossover post.

    Hi RR,

It doesn’t bother me one bit which is why I was willing to share it with you.

What a mean, nasty little creep! And how utterly unnecessary- if you don’t like someone’s blog, no one’s forcing you to read- why be MEAN, dammit?

I hope that dork’s silly sentiments didn’t actually make you upset or anything, Jack. He’s not worth it. I hope you know that you’ve got plenty of readers who are happy to be here.

    Marallyn,

We get all kinds of people here.

    Elster,

True, I have slowed down a bit.

    Bill,

Sadly, I am a failed comedian. Ask James.

“I really am more of a stay behind the scenes kind of person.” That was a good thing. Well at least having him step out of the wings so to speak, allows you to ridicule his lame A@#$.(justifiably so)

Rather self centered fool isn’t he? he may well have said ” I’m not interested any more and its your fault.”

King James seems to be trying to dismiss the jester, who is the bigger fool?

Jack I didn’t know you were a comedian? I guess I have been reading this blog for all the wrong reasons.

    Thanks for the laugh James.(-:

I would be honored if someone told me my blog jumped the shark. It would mean that it was pretty good to begin with.

Jack – maybe he’s just bitter that you are “only” posting like three or four times a day recently instead of your ususal 6 or 7?

    Hi Val,

James can’t get enough of me. What can I say, I am just irresistible. 😉

    Hi Leaf,

    Fonzie is the man.

    Barbara,

I choose to view him as a fan.

    Miriam,

As the Bishop of Bullfrog I may excommunicate him. At the very least he will be punished with a severe croaking.

    Tg,

    Yes.

    Liorah,

    Look at this.

    BOH,

Dude, it is gnarly, just tubular.

    Jim,

    Thanks.

James is full of crap, you are as great as always. Keep it up Jack, ignore James.

The expression “jumped the shark” is soooo last year.

    Like, gag me. Hmmpf.

LOL … btw, what does he mean by your blog has “jumped the shark”? I’ve never heard that line before. Exactly HOW has your blog jumped the shark? That’s what I’d like to know.

  12. tikkunger October 10, 2006 at 9:40 pm

    Your blog has Sharks?

  13. Anonymous October 10, 2006 at 9:39 pm

That guy is just mad because he tried to join the Church of the Tree Frog and found out it has no meetings in his neighborhood.

But he shouldn’t take that out on you.

  14. BarbaraFromCalifornia October 10, 2006 at 9:03 pm

    Hmm…Jumped the shark…

Not sure whether James’s ideas represent a compliment or an insult, but at least you know you have a fan waiting in the wings.

  15. Leaf October 10, 2006 at 8:55 pm

HAHAHA. That is great. One of the most overused and annoying terms ever is “Jump the Shark” but this is the first time I have ever seen it used to describe someones blog. A blog that is usually for the writers own amusement. Anyway, keep up the good work and I’ll be sure to let you know when I start seeing the Fonz on water skis in the distance.

  16. Val October 10, 2006 at 8:49 pm

Holy crap, Jack. How were you to know that you were blogging for that jerks’ ammusement????!!! The balls that some people have really amaze me.
You just keep on writing (not that I had any doubt that you would!) and perhaps blocking James from seeing your blog might be in order (for his own good!)
