    Yup. I got teary eyed. But it was more because Kirk got choked up for sure. Also, when I saw the film for the first time I was a little kid and I loved Mr. Spock.

    I think it was right before that when Kirk chokes up on “human.”

    It’s interesting though, we all have these memories of details …

    Not being a Christian, I did not recognize the song at the time, so I assumed it was some old Scottish bagpipe tune.

    Thereafter, whenever I heard it, I would say, “hey, they’re playing that Star Trek tune!”

    1) there is no such thing as a Star Trek nerd moment! Star trek is plain cool!
