"When you're in jail, a good friend will be trying to bail you out. A best friend will be in the cell next to you saying, 'Damn, that was fun'." Groucho Marx
That Google translator is a valuable tool. I truly fail to see the need to write my blog posts as if I am submitting them to some stuffy academic journal.
It is not hard for me to write like that but if I want to build an inclusive community it makes no sense.
Not unlike most blogs my readers come from around the world and have a variety of education levels.
Many of them speak English as a second language so the last thing I want to do is make it harder for them to follow/understand my posts.
This is great advice! I can’t imagine blogging and not loving it. There is so much work involved to be successful; you have to do it for the love of writing first. That said, there’s great freelance ghost-writing opportunities from those who need a blog, but don’t like writing.
I don’t love time on FB, but have to do it because of the traffic I get from the site.
I took a break for a while, but I definitely agree blogging should be fun. I realized that I don’t have to blog every day to keep people coming back. I just have to blog what I enjoy talking about and what I think will be entertaining to others. That’s what makes a good blog to me.
Thanks for the idea about doing the audio though. I hadn’t even considered doing that before.

Please don’t use those words or I will have to get the Google translator out and it will really slow me down.
Heck yeah I’m having fun; just think what I could do if I was driving traffic other than just commenting. I might actually be somebody, huh?
I can’t say I actually get wood when I write, but I do have a smile most of the time……just sayin’….

Mark I have to disagree with you. We can never have too much fun. 😉
I just can’t get enough of it.

Hi Kelly,
I really don’t understand why some people whine and kvetch about blogging.
If you aren’t being forced to do it, just stop. It is a simple solution.
If you love writing it is just a blast and the chance to meet great people is a serious bonus.

Any time you put the “S” word in the title, they will read or listen in this case.

Yep, people love to listen/read/talk about it.

Hi TT,
Nothing wrong with taking a break, especially if it helps recharge your batteries.
I think you are on the write track. Cover what excites and interests you and it comes out in your posts.
The audio is fun to do, I highly recommend it.
