To be serious for one minute…
I’ve listened for a very long time to people and issues about violence, war, guns, etc. and it drives me nuts. The people speaking (ranting) are mostly from the US and I don’t think have a clue of the cushy “world” we live in compared to what other countries have lived with for years. I know that I don’t have a clue about living in that kind of an atmosphere or what it does to a person. It must wake one up.
I would do anything to protect my family. But I might need to get my prescription for my glasses renewed. My aim would be improved a lot I’m sure.

On a less serious note,..never mind. I erased it. It was good, too. 🙂

Thank you for giving me a laugh. My daughter will love riding to school on a Panda bear. She’s always wanted a pet so it will be a win/win! I am anti gun but then I realize I can’t just snap my fingers and make them all go away, even if I wish I could. The NRA however, appear to have some serious old west fantasies. I think as long as we are placing armed gaurds around our schools we should give them some chaps and cowboy boots too.

      Hi Bridget,

My kids used to attend a private school that had an armed guard. It never bothered me and I was glad he was there, but I never believed that would solve all of the problems. Someone who is determined and willing to die could have gotten in there and done all sorts of harm.

I liked having him around as a deterrent to the less “devout.”

I don’t have a problem with guns and have considered getting one for my house, but that is based upon what I saw during the riots and the earthquake.

I never considered an assault rifle or any sort of automatic weapon because I don’t see the need, but home security isn’t really what this discussion is about.

What I want to see is a real discussion about gun control that doesn’t veer into the stupid and ridiculous. No more trying to shut down the conversation by saying only criminals will have guns.

There are lots of things that can be done that haven’t been, not the least of which is doing far more to help the mentally ill.
